I spent there 2 weeks! That was my second time there. I love this place, just by the sea, so calm and relaxing. Staff is super helpful and friendly, they really made my stay and took excellent care of me. Premises are great, the area to chill by the sea is nice and quite big. I cannot get tired of this place! I stayed in the dorm which is huge so you can still have a bit of privacy if is not full. Shared bathroom is ok. I read many comments about putting a shelf in the shower: please do that! A small details that makes shower more comfortable. It would have been nice to have some kind of treat since I was a long stay guest, like a food discount or one free night. Super recommended and I am sure I will be back for a third time 😍

We (3 adults and 2 kids) spent 5 days in this beautiful place. This accommodation is ideal for families with kids. The room was nice and clean and the staff superfriendly and welcoming (thanks to that, we were able to easily overlook the slower service). The food was good but we bit missed simple swahili kitchen (you can find anywhere around local restaurants so this is not an issue) The accommodation is in great location right by the ocean, so you can swim as much as you can (of course, when there's no outgoing tide). This accommodation is good value for money and I recommended it to everyone.

This place just wasn’t quite my personal style, but there are definitely positives. The rooms were clean and tidy, however the mattresses were extremely firm — to the point where sleep became a bit of a challenge, which unfortunately affected the overall experience for me. The staff are genuinely very friendly and welcoming. Service can be quite slow at times, but always polite and helpful, so it feels more relaxed island pace than bad attitude. The location itself is peaceful and quiet, which many people will probably enjoy if you’re looking to switch off and relax. *The pool is actually a big highlight — large with a massive shallow section that’s perfect for kids, and also ideal for adults to sit and cool off during the heat of the day. One thing they do very well is the evening dinners. Each day has a different theme, which keeps it interesting. The seafood platter was excellent, and the Wednesday BBQ with live music was a highlight — great atmosphere and very talented local musicians. So while it didn’t fully suit me personally, I can definitely see it appealing to travellers who prefer a laid-back, slower holiday vibe.

I had such an amazing time at New Teddys Hostel! The whole place is super chill and beautifully set up — the big pool, the beach bar, and the restaurant all have such a nice atmosphere. I felt so at home that I honestly didn’t want to leave! The staff are awesome — super friendly, funny, and always happy to help. I really enjoyed the daily lunch specials, and the food overall was delicious. The beach, just a few steps down the stairs, is absolutely beautiful and perfect for relaxing. I had so much fun staying at New Teddys and would 100% recommend it to anyone coming to Jambiani. I’ll definitely be back someday. As they say here — Asante sana and tutaonana tena! 🌺

We stayed at Teddy’s on the Beach for a week as a group with children, and it was truly a wonderful experience. The property itself is beautiful and very well maintained. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and from the very first moment the warm and welcoming team made us feel at home. One detail greeted us upon arrival. On each bed there was not only a decoration made of fresh flowers, but also a colorful kanga waiting for us to wear. The kids absolutely loved the pool, and all of us enjoyed the fantastic food every single day. The included basic breakfast was great, and there were many delicious extras you could order as well. Our favorites were the fresh homemade juices, the guacamole, and the amazing curries. We were lucky to experience the barbecue night twice. It was truly special: incredible food, live music, beautiful lighting, and a relaxed atmosphere under the sky. There was something for everyone and it felt like a perfect holiday evening. Two additional highlights for us were the festival and the handicraft market held directly at the property. It was wonderful to see how much passion and effort the team puts into creating not only a place to stay for guests from around the world, but also a space for genuine encounters and local culture. This truly exceeded our expectations for the holiday. Whenever we had questions or needed anything, the wonderful team was always there to help. The management and service staff were incredibly attentive and always came up with great suggestions and solutions, whether it was planning trips or helping with small errands. We used the shuttle service several times and also joined three of the tours offered by the property. During all of these activities, and throughout our entire stay, we always felt very safe and well looked after. In the end, it felt less like staying at a hotel and more like visiting friends. We already can’t wait to come back.
