I agree with many of these other negative reviews on several topics: -Website photographs show a beautiful place but in reality, the place is quite dog-eared and dingy -Unbearable construction noise from the hotel itself (and hotel’s refusal to switch rooms despite availability on website) -Booking/confirmation/credit card situation is ridiculous. I don’t even know how many back and forth communications we had to have to actually confirm our booking. We stayed here for 3 nights in the Suite 1800, the “most special room.” While there certainly is potential for this hotel to be special, our experience was poor. All three days of our stay, they were undergoing some sort of “update” that required VERY loud drilling and banging in the room adjacent and ceiling above our room. We had a sick child while we were there and she was unable to rest in our room due to the noise. This work also made lounging on the room’s patio impossible. We understand that updates need to occur, but there needs to be some sort of plan when it is this extensive. We complained on the first day and they were unable to make any accommodations and said “we are doing our best to limit the noise to just half the day.” Sheets and towels are dingy/dirty and they actually have threadbare bedspreads (eew) on the beds. They also literally give TOURS of the hotel throughout the day which feels in very poor taste for what is supposed to be a small “luxury” hotel. The location is great for sightseeing but visitors should be aware that cars are not permitted in the immediate vicinity. You will need to walk approx a quarter of a mile on cobblestone with your luggage. When asked if we had a good stay, we said “not great” and were told a manager would be informed. I also emailed to say we had a poor stay. We have yet to hear from anyone, hence the negative review.
We had a very good experience at the Casa 1800. The room was well laid out and functional with a nice spacious bathroom with lots of storage space. Beds were comfortable and room makeup was faultless. The rooftop pool and loungers was a very welcoming feature of the hotel, as was the complimentary afternoon tea. Would not hesitate to stay again. Did not enjoy the cooling cycle of the AC being switched off at nighttime and had to manually request it be switched on every day.
For 1000 euros, 2 nights, you would expect a good experience if not a great experience. Fair expectation! However, we were met by a rude shock. We booked for 2 nights at this property in Seville for a premium deluxe room. After checking- into the hotel and within minutes of unpacking ( didn’t want to waste our precious time in Seville), we realised the air-conditioning in the room ( 210) was not working. When we called the hotel reception, they said to switch on a particular switch. When we tried that unsuccessfully, they told us that the air-conditioner is not working in the room and they can switch us to a different room in the same category, but only tomorrow. (First alert. They didn’t say let the maintenance check what’s wrong). However, since the room they are shifting us to, is, even superior to the one that we booked, we will have to check-out again at 12 and check-back in to a different premium deluxe room! Super unthoughtful! Their manager, Anna was the most unfriendly person, who defended their stance saying that they are offering a solution by upgrading us to a better room( oblivious to the fact that you don’t want to be wasting time checking-in and out of the rooms when you have limited time on hand). More importantly, it was clear from her conversation, that the hotel knew the aircon in the room is not working and went ahead to give us that room. So UNETHICAL! To whoever is booking at this property, ( Their best room 302, is a super cramped room for the price with just a small jacuzzi outside) . Don’t waste your money on this property. There are better options available nearby for the same or cheaper price. Do not go by the booking.com reviews that hoodwinked us into booking at this property .
In a city known for its beautiful and majestic architecture, I wanted to stay in a place that was an extension of that. Hotel Casa 1800's beautiful interior was everything I wanted. I really enjoyed my quiet afternoon tea time cozied up with a book in one of those comfortable armchairs in the courtyard. The rooftop was remarkable even in the rainy weather. My room with its exposed brick, beamed ceilings, thick curtains opening up to a balcony, and not one but two chandeliers made me feel like I was sleeping in a royalty's bedchamber. Such a serene place to retreat to after hours exploring the city. And I was perfectly happy spending an evening in as well. The hotel is conveniently located in the historical center, on a small street just steps from the Cathedral and the Alcazar. The hotel staff were all warm and welcoming. My stay here was the main reason in making my first trip to Seville so wonderful and memorable.
Fantastic hotel, superb rooms which are spotlessly clean. Sumptuous Kingsize bed have us a great nights sleep. Very convenient for the cathedral just a minute away. We would throughly recommend 👍🏻
