La Pergola is, of course, a three Michelin-star restaurant, so you expect something exceptional — but this goes far beyond a meal. It feels more like a performance, where you don’t just eat, you experience something that engages all the senses. Every member of the staff plays a role, and each dish feels like part of a carefully written script. This time we ordered à la carte — two courses and a dessert — but from the moment we arrived, we were served dozens of additional creations. In the end, the experience lasted around three hours and felt like a complete journey. We got our reservation through the waiting list, and honestly, we hadn’t planned to come to Rome with elegant attire. Despite my initial hesitation about the dress code, I was treated like a king from start to finish. They even kindly provided me with a jacket, and at no point did I feel out of place. An unforgettable experience in every sense. Todd & Enrique
First time experience in a 3 star. Daunted when a water menu was offered. I mean, wine list I understand, but water menu? 😅 Apart from that, service was impeccable. Even if you tried hard and nit picked, you probably would not be able to find anything wrong with their standard of service. Food was, simple amazing. From house baked breads to every single dish in the 10course menu, was perfect, flavours were profound. The red prawns, were, to die for. Every single staff was spot on, every single dish was amazing. Definitely the place for a special night or celebration. Oh, and the views on the terrace 😱
My second visit to Rome and just on last minute I was able to catch a table in the only 3 Michelin Star Restaurant in Rome: La Pergola. Situated on the 9 th floor of the Rome Cavalieri (A Waldorf Astoria Hotel) it was another iconic place with a breathtaking view. But I was not here to catch a glimpse of the eternal city, instead I was searching to taste the high end of culinary art in my first visit to a three star restaurant. What was the expectation? I mean the chefs of the one and two star restaurants I visited before were no amateurs, and I was cooked into culinary heaven a lot of times before. Could La Pergola really go beyond and above, or would it only be a difference in an even more impressive list of waters and wines? Michelin itself explains their star system very simple. A one star restaurant is always worth a visit, a 2 star restaurant is always worth a detour and 3 star restaurant is always worth a journey. From this point of view I can say the setting was set right. After I was unable to catch a table on my Oktober trip to Rome (I went to Imàgo instead) I planned my journey solely to finally visit La Pergola. So the only question that remains is: „Was it worth it?“ the simple answer is YES. La Pergola is definitely worth a trip to Rome on its own. The service is perfect, but I have seen perfect service before, the food is perfectly crafted, but I have seen perfectly crafted food before. What I didn’t see before, at least not in this density, was that most of the 10 courses really hit me with surprise in a deep form of satisfaction and joy. Finding myself far beyond my expectations on most of the dishes made me certain, even if La Pergola would be in the dark depths of nowhere, I would still want to go there to try their tasting menu! Thanks for a perfect evening to the wonderful La Pergola Team.
Amazing view over Rome from the terrace. We had the tasting menus consisting of 10 servings. A nice glass of Charles Heidsick Rosé Reserve for the snacks and an excellent bottle of Corton-Charlemagne 2014 from Henri Boillot. Food, service, atmosphere. Everything was amazing.
Phenomenal dining experience! Super delicious and well balanced, non stopping dishes were fantastic. Service is extremely attentive! I have to mention about their water menu. It was truly remarkable Michelin three star experience!
