We came here at 3pm on a Wednesday afternoon and luckily there was no line. Excellent pizza. I loved their hot boi (most creative pizza i’ve seen in a while) but their regular slice was about on par with other pizza places in the city. Would definitely come back!
Get here early! We arrived a few minutes before they opened and there was already a line. The people who work here are superhuman. They move so quickly and efficiently even though there isn’t much room. It’s dazzling to watch them make pies, throw things in the oven, and cut slices. We got the vodka pesto, original, and Sicilian hotboi slices. The original was simple and just right. Good sauce-to-cheese ratio, thickness, and taste. The other slices were also amazing. No regrets, no notes. One of the best slices I’ve had in the city. Saw some reviews say that you can only sit if you order a full pie. We were able to sit at the bar with just slices, so YMMV.
Visited Scarr's Pizza while in Manhattan. The atmosphere was classic NYC slice shop — busy and energetic, and the service was good, with a slight wait. When you’re in Manhattan, you better have a food plan, good runners, and an appetite. We popped in for a few slices — the pizza was good, but not quite through-the-roof memorable. Overall, a good experience and worth stopping in if you’re in the area, but not a must-go destination. Saluti.
Came down from midtown to try a slice and thought it could be much better. Incredibly small slice for $7.50 and pretty tasteless. Also, the garlic knots came out cold and super doughy. For a number 1 of pizza in New York I was very disappointed. I’ll probably try someplace with lower # of reviews with high ratings for a more authentic experience.
Nice spot the ingredients are great and the tomato sauce is on point but while the char and initial crunch are beautiful, the actual crumb structure leaves something to be desired once you start chewing. It crosses the line from a satisfying, airy pull into something decidedly too chewy and stretchy. By the third slice, it turns into a bit of a jaw workout.
